Between Sisters

Behind the Book

Meghann Dontess walked onto the pages of Distant Shores, and I was captivated by her. Never before had an unimportant “best friend” kind of character arrived so fully developed and interesting. She was everything I love to write about—a sad, lonely, bitter woman hiding her feelings from herself and the world. Best of all, she had a sarcastic sense of humor, and with that, my second “dramedy” was born. This is really a book about two sisters, who have been wrenched apart by bad choices, coming together in a time of unimaginable crisis. It’s equal parts laughter and tears, and for that reason, I had a great time writing it, which is always a gift.
