Behind the Book

It’s funny, but of all my novels, this one seems the furthest from my body of work. It’s an extremely serious story about difficult themes—the breakup of a longterm marriage in the empty nest years, infidelity, family secrets, and the necessity of forgiveness. What I remember most about the writing of this novel are two things. I loved the setting—the wild, windswept, lonely Oregon coastline—and even more, I loved a secondary character.
