Thanks so much to all of you who helped make Firefly Lane such a remarkable success this year.  2008 will definitely go down in the record books as a memorable time for me — the launch of my new website, the publication of Firefly Lane, which was on the New York Times bestseller list for eight weeks, and of course, my surprising transition into one of those people who blog. And like it.  🙂  I hope you’ll join in the blog conversation and find out all the news that’s fit to print.  I am stunned to realize how much I enjoy connecting with readers and book clubs, so please, don’t be shy: chime in and hit send! I love reading what you have to say.

Thanks to everyone who entered The Best Friends Contest. I loved reading the stories that were shared. You all can read them here on the site.  But I warn you: bring a tissue.  These letters can have you laughing one minute and crying the next.  And start sharpening your pencils for the next contest.  More about that soon…

I’ve been fortunate recently to join a number of book clubs who are discussing my work.  And what a hoot it is!  I love meeting the women who read my novels…and more than a few of them seem to be living my life as well.  So, if you belong to a book club, why not think about reading Firefly Lane?  If my time permits, I’d love to speak to your group by phone during the discussion meeting.  See details on how to get your group scheduled to talk to me. May I suggest you gather a group of friends — old and new — to get together and talk about it with you wherever you are summering this year? I can picture you in beach chairs at the water’s edge chatting about friendship. If you do, send me a picture.

Firefly Lane is a perfect selection for your next book club discussion group. I can assure you that the novel will spark plenty of animated conversation, as well as encouraging shared memories. On my new website I have some ideas on how to make the evening special. Be sure to check them out.
